Drs. P.G. (Petra) Lugtenburg is appointed Director-General for Aviation and Maritime Affairs at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. The Council of Ministers has approved the proposal from Minister Uitermark of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The appointment will take effect on June 1, 2025.

Petra Lugtenburg has been Director-General of the National Budget at the Ministry of Finance since August 2018. Previously, she was the Chief Director of Finance and Control at the Ministry of Defence. Earlier, she held various positions at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, including Director of Financial Economic Affairs, Director of the Working to Capability program, and Director of Reintegration and Participation.

Petra Lugtenburg studied Public Administration at Leiden University and Erasmus University Rotterdam.

This appointment has been made through the procedure for the top management group of the General Administrative Service.
