The police received an anonymous tip about a large quantity of drugs in the building on Nieuwstraat. Several officers went to the address. Around 4:30 PM, they found several boxes containing soft drugs. There was also a non-operational cannabis grow operation set up in the building.

The narcotics were seized, and officers arrested a 46-year-old man from Eersel and a 32-year-old man without a fixed address on the spot. They were questioned and released Friday evening; they remain suspects in the case. The police investigation continues to determine the exact type and quantity of soft drugs involved.

Always report suspicious situations
Buildings where drugs are stored, cut, or traded attract criminals and violence. Help stop the violence by reporting suspicious situations. Do you regularly see strange people coming and going at odd hours? Are there frequently different people at the door at unusual times? Are the windows always covered with curtains, and is it unclear who lives there? Then it could be a drug house.

You know your own neighborhood best. If you see strange or suspicious situations, always report them to the police. You can call 0900-8844. Prefer to remain anonymous? Contact Crime Anonymous Reporting, make an online report at https://www.meldmisdaadanoniem.nl/ or call 0800-7000.
