Response to Earthquake near Eleveld

Last night, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.0 on the Richter scale occurred near Eleveld. The quake was felt across a large area.

Agnes Mulder, Kings Commissioner: “Residents were literally shaken awake by the quake. We are shocked by the strength of the earthquake. We understand that this raises concerns and questions.”

Bart van Dekken, Deputy for Soil and Subsurface: This earthquake shows that damage handling must be different and better. We hope for clarity soon.

Mulder: “Together with the municipalities, we are committed to this, towards ministries and other involved parties. The ministers of involved ministries contacted us directly on Saturday morning. We appreciate their involvement.”
