With this collaboration, which has a duration of fifteen years, we jointly commit to improving the quality of life in Donderberg. The Province of Limburg is investing 10 million euros in this approach, which focuses on the development of eight selected areas in Limburg, including Donderberg.

Broad Collaboration for Sustainable Change

The agreement includes cooperation between key local parties, such as Stichting Wonen Limburg, Stichting Wonen Zuid, Stichting Swalm, Roer for Education and Upbringing, and VIJF B.V. Through this broad collaboration, we create an integrated approach to the challenges in Donderberg.

Deputy Marc van Caldenberg emphasizes the importance of this joint effort:

“By signing this cooperation agreement, we lay the foundation for a sustainable and strong community in Donderberg. By connecting education, social inclusion, and livability, we build a future where every resident has equal opportunities and feels safe and at home.”

Focus on Social Inclusion and Equal Opportunities

The collaboration focuses on improving the social, physical, and economic quality of the neighborhood. This includes strengthening social inclusion, increasing residents security of existence, and improving housing and living quality. The partners will develop concrete action plans in the coming months, with residents input central.

Together, we are building a neighborhood where everyone can participate and where a strong community emerges. Donderberg is now officially the sixth area in Limburg to take this important step in the area-oriented approach.

10 Million for a Better Living Environment

The Province of Limburg is investing a total of 10 million euros in the Area-Oriented Neighborhoods and Villages Approach, aiming to improve livability and security of existence in neighborhoods in eight municipalities. Each neighborhood receives a tailored approach, with plans developed in consultation with residents.
