Eating together and discussing freedom is what the Freedom Meal stands for. Foundations and associations in the province of Utrecht can apply for such a meal for people from their neighborhood, association, or network before May 5.
During the Freedom Meal, people meet and can share stories: what does freedom mean? How do we treat each other? And how do we ensure connection, even when opinions differ?

Liberation Day 2026
This year, the province of Utrecht is organizing the National Celebration of Liberation on May 5, 2026. The annual May 5 celebration will start next year in the Dom Church in Utrecht, with a substantive program around the May 5 lecture. The morning program marks the start of all festivities in the country.
