The Minister of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) and the mayors of Middelburg and Veere have decided to amend the Joint Regulation Zeeuws Archief. A Joint Regulation is a cooperation agreement between multiple governments. This amendment came into effect on February 20, 2026.
The new participants are:
- The executive board of the municipalities of Terneuzen, Schouwen-Duiveland and Vlissingen.
- The daily board of the Scheldestromen Water Board.
- Provincial Executive of the Province of Zeeland.
All participants are affiliated with the Zeeuws Archief for both archive management and supervision as well as for the e-Depot. They wholeheartedly endorse the goal of the Joint Regulation Zeeuws Archief 2026: safeguarding the joint interests of the participants. This applies to managing and making available archives, collections, individual documents and the like managed by the Zeeuws Archief. The Zeeuws Archief executes, among other things, the archive law, archive policy and cultural-historical policy (as far as applicable to archives) in this interest representation.
