On Tuesday, January 13, the police arrested a 49-year-old man suspected of sending child pornography to minors and possessing, producing, and distributing child pornography.
The man impersonated someone else on social media and persuaded young girls to share nude images of themselves. Sometimes there was coercion by threatening to further distribute images previously shared with him.
The case came to light after reports from social media platforms to the police. At the beginning of January, a criminal investigation was launched under the direction of the public prosecutor.
The man was arrested on Tuesday, January 13. The police also seized data carriers from him at that time. These are currently under investigation. On Friday, January 16, the man was brought before the examining magistrate, who decided to extend the pre-trial detention by two weeks. The investigation is ongoing.
