The suspect who was arrested in Germany in November for involvement in the death of Cemil Önal has been extradited to the Netherlands. On Friday, the suspect was presented to the examining magistrate, who extended his pre-trial detention by 14 days.

The 41-year-old Cemil Önal was shot dead on Thursday, May 1, at a terrace on Van Vredenburchweg in Rijswijk. A 47-year-old man from Bergheim, Germany, is suspected of having played a role. He was arrested on November 13 at the request of the Dutch authorities in Germany. On Wednesday, January 28, the suspect was extradited to the Netherlands.

The investigation into the shooter and a second man who may have been involved is ongoing. Therefore, the Public Prosecution Service is cautious about providing more information.
