Outside, the police arrested two individuals, amid threats that a group of other demonstrators would interfere with those arrests. The suspects, a 23-year-old man and a 25-year-old man from Nijmegen, have been arrested on suspicion of public violence. The two suspects are currently still in custody.
Subsequently, a third suspect, a 25-year-old woman from Nijmegen, was arrested on suspicion of public violence and resistance. The suspect was bitten by the service dog during her arrest. She was taken to the hospital for treatment and will be invited for questioning at a later time. The use of the service dog is further investigated by the National Criminal Investigation Department. The National Criminal Investigation Department conducts an impartial investigation under the authority of the Public Prosecution Service into incidents involving firearm use or other serious violence by the police.
