Zonnestraat

On March 19, an assault occurred in the vicinity of Zonnestraat in Brunssum. A minor young lady from Heerlen was injured in the process. She was approached by the two suspects. Subsequently, a conflict arose, during which violence was used.

Shortly after, the victim was attacked by a larger group and was brought to the ground and kicked multiple times in the head. Several minors were involved. This morning, three minor young ladies from Heerlen were arrested on suspicion of involvement in this assault.

Treebeekplein

In another assault that took place on March 15 at Treebeekplein in Brunssum, a minor young man from Brunssum was injured. He was kicked multiple times in the head by the two suspects. A third suspect filmed the incident. In the investigation into this assault, a minor young man and young lady from Heerlen and Brunssum were arrested this morning as suspects.

Investigation

The victims and suspects are between 13 and 16 years old. Because both the victims and suspects are minors, we are cautious with additional information. The investigation into both assaults was conducted jointly by the (basic) teams from Brunssum-Landgraaf and Kerkrade. Further arrests are not ruled out.
