On Monday, February 2, 2026, at 8:15 PM, two officers were patrolling on foot through the Dauwedeale neighborhood. They passed a known hangout spot, a shed belonging to a house on Meanderhof. There, they spoke with three men present. When one of the officers glanced into the shed, he saw a firearm. They immediately proceeded to arrest the men. Two were caught, but the third fled. They are an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old from Vlissingen.
Investigation
An investigation was immediately started, and several stabbing weapons and firearm parts were found in the shed. On Wednesday morning, a third and fourth suspect were arrested, a resident of the street and an 18-year-old from Middelburg. The investigation is ongoing.
