On Saturday, January 17, shortly before 6:00 PM, camera surveillance operators saw a conflict arise at Stadhuisplein involving a large group of youths. They observed a 14-year-old boy fall to the ground in the turmoil and then be kicked multiple times in the head. Shortly after, the group dispersed and the youths ran in different directions. Officers were able to immediately arrest some youths. After further investigation, the police arrested additional youths on Sunday. The victim sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Several suspects have been detained for questioning. They are suspected of public violence. The investigation focuses on which suspects are responsible for the violence and the kicking of the 14-year-old boy.
