On Sunday around 3:45 AM, officers saw a cyclist without lights swerving in the middle of the road (where the cyclist should be on the adjacent bike path) on Oosteinderweg. They stopped the young man, who was part of a group. When the young man received a fine, the atmosphere changed and the officers were surrounded by the group. One officer was punched full in the face and the other was pushed to the ground. They were also threatened by several people in the group. The officers called for backup from other colleagues. They regained control of the situation with the help of other officers, an extendable baton, and a stun gun.
