One of the two was arrested at his home on Rijksweg Zuid. His son was on the way, and his arrest took place in his vehicle on Van Hiltenstraat in Geleen.
Searches
After the arrests, a search was initiated at the fathers home. Two properties on Surinamestraat and Van Hiltenstraat and a commercial property on Jubileumplein are also being searched. To ensure the searches can proceed undisturbed, the locations have been cordoned off and shielded. This is carried out by specialized police officers.
Deployment
Approximately 150 police officers are participating in the operation, including detectives, financial experts, police officers responsible for securing the search locations. Money, narcotics, and firearms dogs have also been deployed.
Restrictions
Because both suspects have been subjected to restrictions, no further information can be shared. The two may only have contact with their lawyer.
