Around 7:20 PM, police checked a vehicle on Omschoorweg in Raamsdonksveer. During the search of the car, they found narcotics and a small amount of cash. Based on this, the suspect was frisked and the officers proceeded to arrest him. During the arrest, the suspect fled. Police started a pursuit and ran after the suspect. Eventually, one officer used a stun gun. The suspect fell to the ground and rolled into the water.
While the suspect was in the water, officers saw him hiding bags possibly containing narcotics in the water. Eventually, the suspect came out of the water. He was checked in the ambulance. He was then arrested on suspicion of possession of narcotics. The suspect is a 20-year-old man from Raamsdonksveer. He was taken to the police detention center and is held there for questioning. The police are conducting further investigation. The fire department also arrived and recovered a large quantity of narcotics from the water. These were seized and are being tested.
