In February you received the municipal tax assessment. If you have little money, you can apply for exemption. This is also possible if you are an entrepreneur. You then pay nothing or a part. Whether you get exemption depends on your financial situation.

You may be entitled to exemption from municipal taxes if your net income is at or around social assistance level. And if you have little savings and assets. This is after deduction of your net rent and health insurance premium.

For these taxes

You can get exemption for waste disposal tax, property tax (OZB), movable space tax, sewerage charges and precario fees for users of houseboats.

Check if you are entitled to exemption

We have a handy check to see if you might be entitled to exemption. The checklist is a tool. After filling it out, you still do not know for sure if you will get exemption.

Income and assets
