From March 1, residents and visitors can easily share their experiences with street taxis via the new Taxi Reporting Point. This can include complaints as well as compliments. The municipality aims to better support taxi users and gain more insight into the Arnhem taxi market.
New Reporting Point
Until 2023, there was a national taxi reporting point, but it was abolished because taxi companies must have their own complaints procedure. However, many people do not know where to turn with their story, for example because it is often difficult to find out which taxi company they used. The new reporting point helps residents with this. The municipality registers the reports and can forward them in consultation with the reporter to the relevant taxi company. Or, if necessary, also to the police or the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate, the supervisor for taxi companies.
Good taxis belong to a hospitable city
Alderman for sustainable mobility Nermina Kundić: Arnhem wants to be a hospitable city for everyone who lives here or visits. Good and reliable taxi companies are part of that. Whoever books a taxi wants the certainty that the ride will go smoothly and that a fair fare will be charged. With this reporting point, we help residents share their experiences and work together on a taxi market that is clear, safe, and fair.
Where can you report?
The reports also help the municipality improve taxi policy. Kundić: This is important because from 2027 we will start with a new licensing system for street taxis. Drivers must then meet additional requirements, such as a clear complaints procedure and better recognizability. The Arnhem Taxi Reporting Point can be found at arnhem.nl/taxi.
