Together with the municipalities of Urk and Noordoostpolder, we have decided that we cannot yet make a definitive choice for the preferred variant of the Spuiweg project. This is because not all conditions have been met. The final decision will be made after the municipal elections in March.
All parties consider the road very important and therefore want to make a good choice for the route of the Spuiweg. This joint plan provides a future-oriented solution for the current problems on Domineesweg. This is necessary for traffic safety, growth, and accessibility of the region.
Carefulness
The new road has a significant impact on the future of Urk and Noordoostpolder. Therefore, it is important that everyone supports the same preferred variant. The project has a large impact on the environment and costs a lot of money. We work well together to make this project succeed and find a careful consideration more important than speed. To arrive at a supported preferred variant, extra time is needed. We expect to present the chosen preferred variant around the summer of 2026.
Once the preferred variant is established, an information meeting will follow for people living near the future Spuiweg.
