The jury of the Brabant Style Prize 2025 has selected 5 finalists from 22 inspiring entries. In random order, they are: De Stip in Breda, Veldbloemenhof in Etten-Leur, STEK in the Groote Wielen in Rosmalen, Mainelaan in Eindhoven, and Wood Up in Eindhoven. These projects provide an innovative approach to industrial housing, the theme of this edition of the Brabant Style Prize.
The jury carefully assessed all entries based on evaluation criteria such as the quality of the building, attention to the physical and social living environment, and scalability. The 5 finalists show the jury that industrial construction is much more than just efficiency and speed. They prove that prefab, modular, or serial construction can also contribute to livability, sustainability, and affordability.
Jury chair Wilma Dirken; deputy for Space, Housing, Nitrogen, and Safety of the province of North Brabant: “The jury is impressed by the quality of all entries, especially the 5 finalists. They show that industrial construction not only contributes to more homes but also to a Brabant where everyone can feel at home.”
De Stip – Breda
De Stip is a modular residential area on the edge of the center of Breda. With 182 independent homes for a diverse group of residents and 10 shared student homes. The homes are prefab and modular built in the factory and consist of circular materials such as wood. De Stip is designed for communal living. This is reflected in the common areas and in the two green inner gardens surrounded by wide galleries, stairs, and bridges.
Veldbloemenhof – Etten-Leur

Part of the homes is reserved for people with an urgent housing need. The neighborhood consists of 80 ground-level homes and 20 homes in two levels. Designed, built, and rented in two years. This has solved part of the large and urgent demand for social rental homes in Etten-Leur.
STEK in de Groote Wielen – Rosmalen
STEK is a modular residential area with 200 wooden houses in the Groote Wielen north of Rosmalen. With the builders modules, stacked and ground-level homes have been realized, all with a social rent price. The wooden houses are almost ready-built in the housing factory with many biobased materials. In a green environment, there are 12 residential yards. Each yard forms its own diverse living community. Residents share a yard, which they together furnish.
Mainelaan – Eindhoven
Mainelaan is a housing cluster in the Eindhoven neighborhood Achtse Barrier. Here, 18 social rental homes have been realized on the site of a former primary school, surrounded by owner-occupied homes. The homes are ecologically and circularly built and executed in cross-laminated timber with facades in timber frame construction. Biobased and recycled materials have been used. The homes are located around a communal garden with facilities such as picnic areas, a communal room with a covered terrace, and individual storage rooms.
Wood Up – Eindhoven
In Buurtschap te Veld on the northern edge of Eindhoven, there are 24 Wood Up homes. The modular homes are made up of multiple wooden units. Each home has its own character due to design options and finishing choices. The homes are almost entirely biobased, prefabricated in a workshop, and assembled and finished on-site in a short time. The social purchase homes are located in a shared and green living environment with communal gardens and shared values.
