Swearing-in Ceremonies

The meeting began with the admission and swearing-in of Ms. Bettine van Boxel-van Gruijthuijsen (D66) as a temporary member of the Provincial Council. She replaces Floris Stoot, who has resigned. Subsequently, Mr. Nino de Lange (PvdA) was sworn in as a temporary member replacing Saskia van Hulten, who requested a second temporary leave. Following this, Ms. Hetty Egger-van Oppen (ChristianUnion-SGP) was sworn in. She was previously a citizen member for this party and is now temporarily appointed as a council member, replacing Mr. Henk van Zelst. Mr. John van Grinsven (ChristianUnion-SGP) was the last to be sworn in as a citizen member for ChristianUnion-SGP that day. Due to Ms. Egger-van Oppens temporary council membership, a vacancy for a citizen member in this faction has arisen.

Recommendation for Reappointment of the Kings Commissioner

After the swearing-in ceremonies, the meeting continued with a closed session. During this, the council members considered proposal 22/26 recommending the reappointment of the Kings Commissioner in the province of North Brabant. During this agenda item, the Provincial Council decided to recommend to the Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations to propose Ms. mr. I.R. Adema to His Majesty the King for reappointment as Kings Commissioner in the Province of North Brabant.

Draft Decision Proposal 02/26 Report Southern Audit Chamber ‘Undermining in the province of North Brabant’

The Southern Audit Chamber conducted an investigation into undermining in the province of North Brabant and subsequently made recommendations, partly to the Provincial Council and partly to the Executive Council of North Brabant. The Provincial Council is now asked to decide on the follow-up of these recommendations.

This proposal was adopted. 51 council members voted in favor.

Draft Decision Proposal 58/25 Evaluation Green Development Fund Brabant 2021 – 2024

In 2025, the province had the Green Development Fund Brabant evaluated for the period 2021-2024. The Provincial Council is asked to adopt the evaluation report and to continue the Green Development Fund Brabant.

This proposal was adopted. 36 council members voted in favor, 14 voted against.

18/26 Procedure Wishes and Objections for the sale of shares in N.V. Monumenten Beheer Brabant to BOEi combined with granting a loan facility from the immunization portfolio to BOEi for investments in N.V. Monumenten Beheer Brabant and other heritage in North Brabant

The Provincial Council is asked whether they have wishes and objections regarding the proposed decision of the Executive Council to sell the provinces shares in Monumenten Beheer Brabant (MBB) to BOEi combined with a loan facility from the immunization portfolio of up to €37 million, to be granted to BOEi, for the acquisition of shares in MBB and for investments in heritage within and outside Brabant.

This proposal was adopted. 31 council members voted in favor, 20 voted against.

A motion was adopted with this proposal:

M4-2026 Future N.V. Monumentenbeheer Brabant, submitted by Local Brabant, was adopted.

37 council members voted in favor, 14 voted against.
