Unrest After the Match
After the match, there was unrest in several locations. Fighting occurred on Lijnbaanstraat in Katwijk. Last week, an 18-year-old man from Rijnsburg was already arrested for this. While multiple police units gathered to prevent a new confrontation between groups, three men were attacked by a larger group on Koestraat in Rijnsburg. Two Rijnsburg residents aged 23 and 24 were seriously injured.
More Arrests Not Excluded
The investigation led to the identification of the suspects now arrested. The two Katwijk residents aged 17 and 20 were arrested on the morning of Tuesday, February 17. They are being questioned by the investigation team and will appear before an examining magistrate on February 19. The investigation is not yet concluded. The investigation team has footage that is being thoroughly analyzed, and more arrests are not excluded. Suspects who have committed a criminal offense can also report themselves to the police.
