On behalf of the Public Prosecution Service, a criminal investigation was initiated in 2025 against the employee, which led to the arrest. In addition to the criminal investigation, the polices Safety, Integrity and Complaints department also started a disciplinary investigation. This resulted in the decision for unconditional dismissal. The employee had already been suspended earlier in the investigation and has since had no access to police buildings and systems.

The arrested police officer has now been dismissed and will have to answer to a judge at a later time.
