From March 2 to March 26, 2026, the Textile Race Overbetuwe will take place. This year, five classes from four primary schools participate in this sustainable and educational competition.
After a guest lesson on textiles and sustainability, the classes compete to reuse, repair, and collect as much textile as possible. The class with the most points wins a great grand prize.
Learning by Doing
The Textile Race allows students to discover interactively the impact of textile production on people and the environment. They learn that clothing and other textiles often can have a second life instead of being thrown away.
Residents Can Help
If you live near one of the participating schools, you can easily join. Between March 2 and 26, you can have used or damaged textiles collected from your home for free. Think of clothes, socks, towels, or curtains. You can register via www.textielrace.nl. The students ensure that the textiles are reused or recycled.
Support a Class in Your Area
By participating, you help prevent waste and support a class in your neighborhood in the race for the grand prize. As a thank you for registering, you will receive discount codes for various sustainable brands.
