Due to recent winter weather, the work on the bicycle path along Vogelweg (N706), near Knardijk, has been delayed. Contractor Reimert Bouw en Infrastructuur has not been able to pour concrete because of the wet conditions. The schedule has been adjusted, and the concrete will be poured in week 11 (the week of March 9, 2026).
Bicycle Path Closed Longer
Because of the delay, part of the bicycle path will remain closed longer than initially planned. It is expected to reopen on Friday, March 20. We understand this may be inconvenient for cyclists, but by waiting for the right weather conditions, we ensure the concrete is of good quality and lasts longer. This keeps the bicycle path safe and sustainable in the future. Detours will remain clearly indicated on site.
Repair Sections Start as Planned
The work on the repair sections, where broken slabs are replaced, will start as planned on Monday, March 16. During these works, cyclists can ride past the work areas via steel plates.
Sustainable and Future-Proof Bicycle Path
For the work on the bicycle path along Vogelweg, the province uses sustainable geopolymer concrete. This concrete contains no cement and reduces CO₂ emissions by 60% to 80%. More information about the work and schedule is available at https://www.flevoland.nl/vogelweg
