On Baliëndijk in Breda, the police officers signaled the car to stop. The driver did not stop, but the officers saw that there was suddenly a lot of movement in the car. It seemed as if the occupants were hiding something. Several times, the officers gave horn and light signals to the driver of the car. Only at Zustersveld did the car stop.
Hidden Space
Only the driver of the car could identify himself; the passenger could not. The driver had previously been known for violating the Opium Act. After this was reported to the driver, the officers asked him to surrender all drugs. Both the driver and the passenger claimed to have no drugs with them. The officers could now search the car. In a hidden space, they found some pony packs of cocaine and a small amount of hashish. The drugs and several hundred euros were seized by the officers.
Both men were arrested and had to go to a police cell complex. The driver, a 25-year-old man from Breda, resisted and ran away. One of the officers used the stun gun; the man was hit and fell to the ground. He was then handcuffed and taken to the cell complex. The passenger, a 33-year-old man from Breda, decided to cooperate with his arrest. Both men are detained. They may give a statement to investigators on Saturday.
