The cause and what may have preceded this incident are not yet known. It is clear that the victim knows the suspect. The suspect, a 62-year-old woman, also from Boxtel, stabbed the resident with a knife after she opened the door. A man who was also present in the house remained unharmed. Officers found the likely used knife and confiscated it. Due to the serious injuries of the victim, a trauma helicopter with a doctor was also dispatched to the scene.

The suspect is in custody. The investigation continues, involving forensic investigators among others. Those involved and any witnesses are being questioned.
